I live in Sarasota Florida. The hurricane passed right over us. After we bought our house in a good location to be in a hurricane we hurricane proofed it. Straps holding down the roof and cat5 windows on a cement block house. Had to pick up branches the hurricane knocked off. A neighbor had a small tree knocked down. Our big oaks only lost dead branches and a few good ones. Since I get around in an electric wheelchair I could only take care of the large items and am unable to get to the rakes for the small stuff. We have stranding water in the back yard around the shed. The biggest problem is power outages. We have no power like 160,000 other locations. When you prepare properly you have no worries. Might think about getting a generator for next time.
